Fischer RX Big Heat Skis w/ Z13 Flowflex Bindings Reviews
Average Rating: (9 reviews)

"This is like a carving ski on steroids. This has the same sidecut as an average ski but with a big frame. Great for soft snow or ice this ski is built to charge! It comes with an aggressive carving style plate and a high level binding. Advanced and expert skiers recommended, because this is going to be a difficult one for intermediates to handle."

Big, fast, heavy, badass
By [RV]erified User #134514 ty from Lake Tahoe, CA on 11/10/2010
Pros: fast
Cons: you have to drive them hard
I got the Big Heats at the tail end of last season, and had the opportunity to use them in just about every condition. Powder... well, they're not really for that. I managed though. Crud, they're fantastic. Blast right through it. And the groomers... oh yeah- the groomers. If you like carving big, wide, fast turns at 50mph, you really need to get these skis immediately. But it depends on what you're used to and how you like to ski. You have to drive these skis hard. They need authoritative input. Skiing on these is a far cry from the rockers that just twitch from edge to edge. These skis are heavy and stiff, and they hold a line beautifully. They shine on big high-speed S-turns, and they'll hold their own in tighter slalom or mogul type skiing, but again you have to drive them hard. A great, well-made ski from Austria at a fantastic price.
L9 Q&A

If you like going fast, like really really fast, and you want to do it in any snow the weather can muster, look no further. Warning: I do mean really fast. Ask questions here.
Totally Awesome
By Howard on 10/11/2010
Bought these last February when planning a trip to Sugerloaf. They shipped immediately after ordering which was good as I was leaving 9 days later for my trip. Showed up to Canada on day 8 in original box shrink wrapped. Neet thing was no duty, taxes or trailing charges....what I paid at checkout was what I paid - deliverd to my door. Well I am 250lb and have been snow boarding most of last year but decided I needed some aggressive skis for the Loaf. Strapped these on and never looked back. These things are pure dynamite. These skis will track through anything at extreme speeds. You need to be carefull because you find yourself skiing very difficult balcks at very high speeds - they just wanna go and with ease. Thanks Level 9, these are a real steal and have put new life into my skiing.
Love for L9
By Mike G on 03/09/2010
I ordered these from L9 (and they came quickly as always, thanks fellas) and they are a beaut of a ski. They are like riding a pair of heavy coiled springs down the hill. You need to work them to get them to function as they were designed, but they are very fast and responsive. I was amazed at their ability to hold an edge on very hard pack at speed. Love 'em.
Competitive
By Mike from Schweitzer on 02/01/2010
Big Heats are for the competitve skier who likes to be the first down the hill. They cadillac over the rough stuff with no speed limit. You'll slay the crud on these heavyweights.
Sick skis!
By Derek on 01/04/2010
These skis are sick, period. Super fast, super smooth, super stable. I'm a 5'7'' 170 lb ex-racer and am used to high strung performance skis, but these are just wicked. Flawless performance from hardpack to powder... no brakes required. I'm still waiting to get an email asking for the other $800 I owe cause there is no way these should be selling so cheap! Overall, keep a short leash on these dogs cause they're a lot to handle!!
What a rush!
By Bill on 12/04/2009
Hey I bought a pair of these BIG HEATS mid season last year and what a rush .I'm six foot 225 lbs. and 58 years old. I've always skied fast and I love these rockets.I live in the rockies so we have it all as far as snow and they do well in all conditions .The down side is they are a little heavy. But then that's whet foot rests on chairs are for.

heavy/intimidating
By L9 Chris on 04/11/2009
THE BIG HEATS! These babies have been RETURNED (once) FOR BEING TOO INTIMIDATING AND HEAVY! Yes that is true. These skis are pretty heavy and intimidating, and I think only an expert skier should really consider these skis. However, if you are an expert skier and want to go top speed over any conditions, this battleship of a ski is perfect.
